Adding new family members to petition

I sent an email to KCC asking them to confirm that they only need a completed DS-230 to add my newly born daughter to my application, however they answered back that my interview has already been scheduled (Oct 14 in London) and I should receive a NL in the next 7-10 business days and to direct any queries I have to the American Consulate/Embassy.

Is this going to be a problem? Has anyone been through this before? Should I contact the American Consulate/Embassy immediately or should I wait for the NL?
 
Thanks, I agree. I just like to be prepared for all eventualities and make sure I have all the documentation, birth certificate, passport etc required.
