Adding more visa pages

Does anyone know how they add more pages to your passport?

Do they give ANOTHER passport to you with exactly the same data and do they CANCEL your present passport?

Or do they just give another booklet with not much info etc?

Reason I am asking is - this service that is free - will cost $82 very soon. I am wondering if I should request for more pages right now - but dont know what they will do to the present passport.

My understanding is that they actually sew in additional pages to your exisiting passport, so you retain all the visa stamps etc. that you already have. Alternatively, you can apply for a new passport before the old one expires. If you want to do this as a preventative measure to beat the fee, your passport may need to be close to running out of pages (less than 2-4 pages left):

Can one apply for a new passport with more pages added in the first place?

I wonder why visa issuers (any country) have no coutesy to follow page order to print a visa stamp rathern than
randomly loctae a blank page. The same thing for entry and departure exit when applicable

When you apply visa stickers or stamp 100s of passports a day, you really do not care, since it is just a job for you.

Same mentality. We will keep our room (in our house) neat and tidy, but do not care how our hotel room looks when we check out.

So it appears they sew the extra pages to the present passport - Qsns
- how does the page numbering works? I.e do they put extra pages between pages 14 and 15? Or do they put the pages after 28? Would the sewn pages in any way create the impression the passport is fake?

- Will they give me extra pages even if i have several pages remaining? I could tell them I am applying for several visas in near future.

I don't know where they put the pages, but I believe they are "numbered" with letters to distinguish them from the original pages.

You may want to call the National Passport Information Center regarding the other questions.
