add wife to GC

Hi Guys,
i am awaiting my 485 in couple of months. i have applied for 485 May last year (concurrent). my 140 is approved. @ this stage i am planning to get married in 4-5 months. I am hoping that my 485 doesnt get approved within that time frame. if i marry a girl now, does she have to be here in teh US to add her to the GC. Can i get her papers and add her. I know she has to do medical & fp. how does this work. do i get her here for medical & then bring her back when her fp notice comes?

i am asking this cuz, i will not be getting married for next 5 months, but to add her in my GC i am planning to go get register marriage and get the papers.

suggestions please.
 
Some of the concurrent cases are getting approved.
I don't want to mislead you, but if you are keen in getting your wife into GC process, you shouldn't delay much further.
I'm not telling you should get married immediately. But you should have some other options available to bring your wife into US, if your case gets approved before your marriage.

Best of option is:
1. get married ASAP
2. bring her in H4 ASAP
3. apply for her I485 ASAP

But someone said in this forum that his wife's I485 was denied because he did not apply for her I-485 within one year after his application is filed. Don't panic about it. First of all, I was not aware of this kind of rule. So you must double check this with a professional (your attorney). Probably there is timelimit for "existing" dependent and it does not apply for new dependent (as you are newly married).
 
Why are you getting married? :eek:

I am just joking, I don't think you would have any problem to add her but USCIS is very unpredictable, if you get approved before that then there will be complications so as do as Pralay said and since you already had too much fun in life so get married and get busy.

For a May'2003 applicant with an approved I140, there is very little chance of approval within the next 1 year. So i don't see any urgency here. So if you planning to get married in 4 to 5 months, then you are absolutely fine.

Do not say that. One of my friend with Jan 2003 RD got approval last week. You never know.

but, why are u wasting yar time in posting useless stuffs...if you cannt give answers to people who are concerned on there issues, what the hell r u doing wasting your time and our time...don't u have to crawl & be awake in the nyte... (yar kind of joke....only u can laugh for that)
