AD and FP, are they related or not? Urgent!!

Normally FP notice comes earlier than AD. I filed as a derivative of my wife. In my case, I myself can not wait here for FD, have to travel outside of US, and no hurry to come back. My wife will be here all the time. My thought is: I will call to postpone my FP schedule after FP notice arrives, wait for AD outside of US, have my wife forward me the AD when it arrives, and then come back with AD for the FP.

My question is: will USCIS issue an AD without FP? Please help. I will be waiting online. Many thanks in advance.
 
Guess only option is to come back to US in couple of months for the FP.
FP has to be done before approval for sure.Your FP is sent to FBI for clearance-so dont think without FP and name check-you will get 485 approved.

Not sure if it is possible to get FP done outside US if you are in an extended stay outside US.
Consult an attorney for correct and expert opinion.
