Actually it appears CSC has just reverted to how bad they used to be

I think the small blip that CSC had during the tail end of the dot com era of approving 485's on average of 6-10 mos., was actually the anomolly. We just got conditioned to their unusual quick speed and expected we would be approved the same way. Their current slowness is actually more in line with how they've always approved 485's. I think the hiring pressure during that time forced them to make approvals a priority, but historically it's never been one.

I found this interesting table off of CIBA's website:

The report is based on the JIT (Just In Time) reports released by INS.

The table has the following three columns:
1st column is the date when INS created the JIT report
2nd column is the JIT date
3rd column is the difference (in days) between the 1st column and 2nd column

It would be interesting to see the rest of it. Right now it's 11/16/01, meaning 715 days - not so bad, looking at that table above!!!

Thanks GCN, makes sense now.

So current difference = 622 and so far the average diff = 681 .. we're in the best case 2 months away from JIT moving ..

For argument sake If the CSC was historically processing the 485 in 1 day , what difference would it make to guys LIKE us who are enduring BCIS cruelity NOW.

or on the other hand does it make our life easier if CSC was historically screwing on 485 cases.

You know this is how I interpret the statistic, two years back some BIGSHOT(s) made INS realize the need to get 485 process prioritiesed. And we all know what difference that made .

So, instead of analysising why oil prices when up in 70's and 80's and then suddenly went down in 90's .

Write letter to the senetor and describe how bcis's incompetency is affecting your life and why you tax payer deserve a better service.

Most realistic way of seeing the whole thing. Meaning, they didnt get worse, they just went back to what it was before.

keep in mind

the Priority Dates were not current during this time( Not that it matters that much) but a more accurate or predicting is the no of back log cases. INS used to report no of cases in backlog before seems like right now they are in record numbers. Initially since the priority dates were not current the cases were not backlogged but the total waiting times turned out to the same.
