Access to case# by employee?

Is there a policy with DOL/USCIS that says that only the lawyer and sponsoring employer shall have access to the case number and NOT the employee in the PERM/GC process?

Thanks for any replies and advice.

The employer has no obligation to provide you with a login ID to check your status. The only way (currently) to check a status is to have a sub-account under your employer's main account on the PERM ETA that is setup by your employer. If you don't have this, you can't check your status. When were you filed? Currently, the DOL is processing cases under audit from August 2007, and final review cases from June 2008. If you are after either of these dates, sit tight and wait for an update. As the other poster mentioned, the petition belongs to the employer and not to the beneficiary. So no, in a long way of saying it, they don't have to give you your case number.
