Just found out US embassy in Canada accepting new appoinments, and there is a 5 day preditermination. Anybody booked a appoinment this week?

yes. they will run some checks on you

DOS may run some checks on you. within 5 days if you get an email from them, it will be explained in the email whether or not you should cancel your appointment or you should plan to be outside for upto 30 days until they make a decision on your visa. if you dont get an email within 5 days, you are fine and your appointment is confirmed.
 
5 day \'security check\'?

when i tried to book an appointment, the system popups message saying \'please allow 5 business days before planning travel, if they call you back then it means you might have a long waiting time and suggest not to go to cananda\'.

do they check the visa types, the country,..? do you have any idea? thanks
 
Forget the reference # forbooking

Hi

While I tried to book early for visa appointments fortget to note the reference # .
Now knowing that they are accepting new appointments i tried to book but,
the system replies there is no match for reference #. Now how do i get this #.
Please suggest if any one knows.
