Acadmic H-1B: Doing consultancy in summer

I am on academic H-1B (never been on industry H-1B). This summer I have an option for doing a consultancy work in a company.

1. Do I need to get the company file a concurrent H-1B?
2. If yes, what happens with cap?
3. If the company instead sponsors a project through the University, can I go to the company site and work for this project during the summer on my current H-1B (the salary will of course come through the University)?

1. Do I need to get the company file a concurrent H-1B? YES. Under 2008 Quota2. If yes, what happens with cap? You have to apply this April 1, 2007 for year 2008 quota. You can work only on or after Oct 1, 2007.

3. If the company instead sponsors a project through the University, can I go to the company site and work for this project during the summer on my current H-1B (the salary will of course come through the University)? YES, if the company is with in your residence state
