Academic H-1B to Company H-1B

Hi,
I have a US (PhD) degree. But my OPT was denied, I have applied for a motion to reopen, it is still under review. In the mean time, I processed my H-1B through a university and currently working as a researc scholar. I have got a company job too, now they have applied for my H-1B under advanced degree cap. My OPT is not yet approved though. Now my question is: Will there be any problem in getting my company H-1B approved because of OPT issues? or Is it going to be okay because now it is a transfer from academic H-1B to company H-1B? It would be great if somebody could help me out in this.

You said your OPT is pending and now you are working on H1 ? your OPT is nothing now as you can not take OPT as H1.

Thanks for your reply. But does that mean this "denied OPT" will not haunt me anymore, and getting an approval of my company H-1B will be easy as I am already in my academic H-1B?

What was the reason of denial of OPT ? OPT denial should not affect H1(well, you already got H1, didn't you ?).

I transferred to another university, and the old university messed up my I-20 records, and USCIS said I did not submit all the I-20s (which I have) and denied my OPT. I am glad to hear that this wont affect my company H-1B.

Company H1b is completely different from academic h1 which is cap exempt and having a university h1b doesnt favour your company H1b approval and it has to go through the cap.if you have already applied you are safe but note that you cannot join the company till october 1st.
I'm also in the same boat and I have my approved H1b from the company but continuing till september in the university.
Never resign your job now becos you will be out of status as you dont have OPT.
