folks I'm new to the AC 21 concept, hence the question:

how do I go about changing jobs, (I-140 approved in dec04, filed concurrently with 485 in Jan04. 485 is pending).

Do I send a letter to INS saying I'm changing jobs or not?

do I have to wait 6 months (after 140 approval) so that employer cannot revoke my 140?

what if my 485 gets approved in the meantime? can I still change jobs then?

------ yes, send new employer letter for future job offer in same/similar job duties

---NO, you are eligible for AC21, even if your employer tries to revoke the I-140 USCIS will not revoke it as your I-140 is approved AND I-485 is pending more than 180 days
(after 140 approval) so that employer cannot revoke my 140?

what if my 485 gets approved in the meantime?
----- if AC21 letter is NOT sent before I-485 gets approved then your I-485 will be approved for Orignal Sponsor/employer and you need to work with him after GC minimum 6 moths or need a letter that they dont have job for you and keep that letter will you till you apply your citizenship or renew GC. if AC21 letter is sent before I-485 approval then you can work with the employer whose letter to use AC21 was sent

can I still change jobs then?

Hi ginnu, thanks for reply; one clarification though:

for employer to NOT revoke approved 140 petition, I have to have 485 pending 6 months: is this 6 month period counted from the day 140 is approved OR from the day 485 was filed?
