Hi,
First of all, thank you everyone for all the postings and sharing of information. This forum is really a source of strength (and sanity). Here is my success story:
1) Filed I-485 in Nov. 2001
2) Company was bought in January 2002. Decided to invoke AC21 in June 2002, My lawyer sent a letter to BCIS informing them that we are invoking the law.
3) Case got transferred to Bloomington, MN BCIS in Feb. 24, 2003.
4) IIO called my HR Manager for another Employment letter on May 5, 2003. Faxed the next day. Also called me to fax over my EAD card.
5) Got a letter of approval on May 20, 2003. Scheduled for stamping on May 30, 2003.
6) Due to work meetings/travel that might happen at work on May 30, 2003--Decided to go into the local BCIS and asked if it can be processed today, May 22, and they did! The guard and the Immigration Officer were very nice, helpful and kind.
My info:
LIN-02-048-XXXXX
RD: 11/28/2001
FP: 5/12/2002
Transfer Date: 2/24/2003
RFE: 5/5/2003
AP: 5/20/2003
Stamping: 5/22/2003
They gave me a temporary card, instead of stamping the seal onto my passport. The Immigration Officer mentioned that if I opted to stamp it on my passport, the passport will need to be valid for at least another year. Mine is expected to expire next month so I opted for the card.
The online message is still not updated on the BCIS website. For everyone waiting, I hope your day comes soon, too!
