I am eligible for AC21 and i-485 is current. From past 1 month i am not in job and not getting paid. Unable to change my employer as there is contract that i will be with him until 1 year after i get GC. But now i am struck . Please suggest me .I got a new job from other client. Fully confused whether to take new job or wait till this employer look out job for me.Very much frustrated.

Is it legal to change job on AC21 even though i am binded in contract.
in case i change job,i dont want to send AC21 documents to USCIS as 485 is current and by sending ac21 it may even more delay my case. Appreciate your inputs.

My manager from my prev company was trying to bind me to a similar contract. I refused as the timeframe for acquiring GC is uncertain. The company's legal advisor later told him that such a contract was illegal as it is immigration related. Hope this helps. Was there a termination clause?

I would check with an attorney...but generally, you can't bind someone like that. Some companies have contracts saying that if you leave within x time of getting your greencard you owe us costs, but they can't say that you must stay.
