AC21 Portability after +180 days w/ Approved I-140

Hello,

I am almost certain that someone else asked this question before, but I am being search-box challenged today, and can't get the results that I need.

I was wondering whether I can switch to any job that I want with an EAD after 180 days with an approved I-140 until my GC is approved. The only thing I would have to make sure of is that the job I have when I receive my GC is similar to the job I got LC for, is this correct?

Also, can I be jobless for a month or two while maintaining my EAD?

Sorry I am just trying to see if there are any major differences between an EAD and a GC (except for the obvious, if I-485 gets rejected, I am no good).

Can anyone clarify?

------------------not to ANY job but to same/similar job to invoke AC21
The only thing I would have to make sure of is that the job I have when I receive my GC is similar to the job I got LC for, is this correct?

-----------------------one need to have Permanent job offer AT THE TIME of I-485 approval. after filing I-485 one can be without job.
