Hi
We got a 2nd fingerprinting notice at old address in CA. We are currently in NC. (on the basis of AC 21). Will i have to go to the local office in san jose, ca where the appt. is scheduled or do i have other options of getting the finger printing done here in NC itself.

In case u r curios, I did file for my change of address (AR 11) and called up the 800 number and also rcvd. confirmation letters from the INS for COA at new address.

This prolly happened cuz the fingerprinting notice was sent prior to me having notified the INS of my change of address. But then its the INS :)

Thanks in advance.

People have done their FP's successfully in other states/places other than the FP center which was mentioned their FP notice.

Show them that you moved permanantely from CA to NC and prove with your identify card (DL) and mention that you already submitted the Address change request but still USCIS sent to old address by mistake. That will take care of it.

You will also get a chance to update your address and any other information you would like to change when they retreive your case information after scanning the bar code on your FP notice

Good luck.. no need to worry...

I know a guy who had an appointment scheduled in CA but had his FP done in Raleigh, NC without rescheduling. He didn't have any problems at all. They even didn't ask him anything.

Thanks redneck & kvpt_mm.

I did go to the local office and they did not even care to find out details abt. my case. Asked for the original fingerprint notice and that was it. Got the fingerprints and in a few minutes I was out. Sometimes the INS makes the tasks look so much easier and sometimes they take for ever to figure it out.

Strange are the ways :)
