No time limit. The only danger is that you are unemployed at ajudication or interview time.

Question on GC interview before EAD approval

Can you comment on this please? A person is not on payroll because that person's EAD expired and is waiting for renewal, but the company still offers to continue employment upon approval of EAD. Then before EAD comes through if the person has to attend the GC interview then how risky is it?

That should be fine, provided the job offer is there - since there is no requirement to be employed by the sponsor prior to obtaining Permanent Residency.

EAD during job change

Hello Realcanadian,
I saw your answers to few questions and hopeful that you will impart some of your knowledge here again..
I am in the process of changing jobs. I have I-140 approved more than a year ago and my wife is on 3rd renewal of EAD. I just went on EAD this April as my 6 yrs H1B expired and have not applied for extension. Now my question is when I change my job what will happen to the current EAD? Is it valid for the other employer too ? Please help.

Of course. The EAD is not tied to any employer.

I have 90 day notic period as per my agreementand I ama phsyician so I cant quit job right away, what will happpen if I give 90 day notice and meanwhile I get my gc approve during transition period if I use AC21

If they'll hire you back when your EAD is approved, you're OK. But you're saying they won't hire you back?
