AC21 before 140 approval

I understand I have to have 140 approval plus 180 day period after 485 to invoke AC21, but considering that 140 approvals take forever nowadays, has anyone switched employers before 140 approval?

I am thinking about doing it? should I tell INS, my current employer (GC sponsoring guy) says he will support my GC process
