Hi,

My parents-in-law have their visitor visa interview by the end of this month. They plan to make an affidavit about the fixed and the liquid assets they have. (Off course, they will carry all the original papers for the same). Is it okay if all the assets are mentioned in Rs. Lakhs ? Or should they change it to Rs Thousands ?

When they went to get the visa appointment at the Visa Facilitation Center, they submitted DS156 forms and the fees and were given a receipt-cum-appointment letter. The letter mentions that the US Consulate does not entertain property agreement copies and CA certification copies. If that is so, what other documents should be taken to prove ownership of the property. They plan to take property tax papers, society fees receipts, governement evaluator's certificate, electricity bill etc. Any suggestions ?

thanks,
swagho

Yes ..they should take all the originals of the documents. It does matter if the figures are shown in lacks or thousands.

In my opinion get the property valued by a authorized valuator or architect and attach that certificate along with all the original documents.

That will make easier for the visa officer to know the exact value of the assets they own
