I just called TSC and I was told that my wife 's name check has been cleared. but mine is still pending. Should I contact congressman now or it is still early?

I know that maybe I'm little bit worried about my case for only few months. but I'm searching for job and some of them requir green card holder.

Have patience

Hi dss8084,

My case is very similar to you, but 2-year senior as per I-485 receipt date.

My name check pending since Nov, 2003.
Contacted Senator, Congressman, TSC director, FBI director.
Senator & congressman's office told me that it is pending and they can not help me in any sort in FBI name check.

No reply back from FBI or TSC director.

schak: it should be getting better soon...

Schak,

The reason that you could not make a strong case to the Senator, TSC director, FBI director (and what have you) about your name check is that your I485 RD is Oct 2003, according to the (at least) current published processing date on USCIS.gov, they are processing August of 2003. In other words, it was not your "turn" when you asked help from all those people/department.

Pretty soon, the USCIS site will publish that they are processing April 2004, and in which case, your I-485 becomes a overdue case, and I guess at least you can make a stronger case to TSC director to use the speed up processing for your name check.

good luck and just hang in there!

dss8053,
Can you please tell me what number did you dial to contact TSC? Did u call the 800 # ? What options did u use to get connected to the TSC customer rep.
Thanks

Another fact

Hi dss8084 and Wait485GA,

Another story I heard from Senator and congrssman's office which I forgot to add.

If you are EB1 or EB2 with NIW and have a strong background in technology (for example, if you had claimed in I-140 as a successful rocket scientist), it may take a very long time to get FBI name check clearance. The senator office told me that these cases have to pass through some additional clearances which they did not disclose to me.

I am from India and it seems that I fall into that catagory.

Have fun.
