A nice immigration officer with a BIG 9mm gun greeted me.

"

Marlon:Hi, I filed my I-485 on February 2005.
May I ask you whether background checks, including figerprint and name check have been performed already ?

Immigration Officer:Sure. Let me verify it for you.
Yes. All background checks, including name check, fingerprints are ready and finalized. Your request for address change has been received as well.

Just buckle up, sit tight and wait for the final ride."

Well, now I will just wait then.

I applied for I-485 on 02/23/05. Two weeks later I received a request for fingerprint to both my wife and myself, I did it immediately. Funny that two weeks later, they requested another fingerprint session for my wife only.

How many finger print calls have you received so far?

Nothing strange. I guess her first FPs were not good enough for FBI, so they declined CIS request. Usually it takes 24-48 hours to get a response from FBI, so CIS scheduled another bio-appointment real quick.

Darn ! That was going to be a good question indeed.

Marlon, wish I had known that you had gone for the appointment so I could have had asked you to ask them a question.

Fingerprints expire after 15 months. In the past they didn't have capability to store the fingerprints to do them again.

Looks like your 15 months already expired but infopass officer didn't mention anything about it.

I'm going to try to call FBI and see if they received another request for me from USCIS since my fingerprints expired last Saturday.

Marlon, that's a big accomplishment, you are almost there. Probably your service center is too busy (or more likely too lazy ;) ) these days.

The fingerprints will expire after 15 months.I gave my First FP on
May 5/ 2005 and my application was pending due to NC since then, and NC got cleared only this May/06.When I called Vermont Office on October 3rd(when my pD became current) , I was told that everything was cleared but FPs were expired and they will re take new FPs. I took an infopass on October 13th and the officer also told the same thing. He was about to re issue the FP notice, but he called VSC and found that they have already issued a notice on 9th.

Interesting. I thought that you would get the I-485 decision notification even when your FP is expired, but then you would need to take the FP before getting the physical GC card.

What you are saying has potential to delay the process further. . I also called USCIS and they said that I should not retake the FP voluntarily, that I should wait until USCIS issues the request for FP, if necessary.

NSC is taking forever to process this. I haven't neard many EB3 approvals. If my case doesn't get ready by Nov 12th, so then on the 13th I will follow up with lawmaker.
