Hi Every one,
I need you guidance about immigration of my Husband. I am LPR in USA and filed I-130 for in June, 2006. Considering the current pace of Visa bulletin, I expect that my Husband's priority date will reach within 4 Months.

He is an Indian Citizen, currently in Germany perusing his PhD Degree in Engineering.


1- I need to know whether his immigration process, Interview and Issuance of Visa can be done in Germany or he has to come back to India for this.

2- How long does it take in getting the USA immigrant visa when the priority date becomes current.

1. Contact the consulate in Germany to ask if they will accept him there. Explain that he has a long term visa to stay in Germany and has been in Germany for whatever number of years. Note that you may need to file I-824 to switch to the German consulate, if an Indian consulate was already specified on the I-130.

2. Anywhere from a month to a year, depending on the consulate. You may have a few months of delay if you are switching consulates from the one you originally requested on the I-130.
