about H1 application,need post job position??

My company plan to sponsor my H1 application.
but they said they will need post this position to job market
Is that a necessary for H1 ?

I mean have anyone experience this before ?
or no need post at all?

I know when apply green card, it need a post

U mean an advt...

advt. is not a requirement to do a LCA. However some companies do it that way it ensures transparency and satisfies the requirement that intent to file LCA should be posted in the company.
