Just looked through the post about citizenship interview, suddenly came up with one question-------

If went back once to COP through another country(the US customs just saw you leave and came back to and from another country), how USCIS know that if you go back COP or not? cannot figure out~~

Actually I dont think we need to bring the passport to the citizenship interview...
Is the passport necessory in the interview? Anyone share the informaion???

Yes, passports are required to show that you meet the residency requirements (did not spend too much time in another country)

Well.. if the passport is lost and the original country refuses to renew? Because asyluee is the pesecution object of the original country and it is quire reasonable that the passport is not able to be renewed....

Are you asking just hypothetical questions or do these issues apply to you?

If there is any question about your meeting the residency requirements, the onus to prove it is upon you. You can also use an RTD instead of a passport if you were issued an RTD by US immigration.

well, it is not apply to me, but I just thought about this situation that USCIS may not know that the person went back to COP.

The situation is : the person used passport to go back to COP and lost it later. He/she then applied the RTD or re-entry permit which could bring to the citizenship interview. So IO only saw the RTD, not the passport, and could not know that the person has been back to COP before.
