A victim's veisit to Baltimore Office (Oct. 1 case)

today i ran out of my patience again (4 calls to VSC and 1 visit to BAL office) after waiting for approval for 5 months after local interview (10/31), so i decided to see our dear local officer once more and check my case status.

the answer is as i expected, "pending fbi check", but i was told specificly that my case was sent to fbi on 03/04/2003, which means from oct-mar (120+ days), my case was sitting in a corner and drinking coffee.

great! at least it's not lost. from day 1 of this gc journey, i know, it's a test of luck and the punishment of losers like me is frustrations.

As you know I am on the same boat, my interview was done on the 4th of March.

So does it mean they take 5 months to send the file to FBI. Well Dude I really don't understand one thing.

Why is that it is sent to FBI name check again ? after the Fp is done.

What happens in the case of direct approval's without the interview ?

Are they sending everyone's case for fbi name check ?

what was the time frame give by the office for this to be done ?

as far as i know, this fbi check has been implemented since last nov. i guess this will affect lcoal transfers more because local offices may have a poorer communication with fbi, only my guess.

my case was sitting on the shelf for 5 months while eveyday i opened my mailbox with hope ... and disappointment.

your case could be in better situation if they've done your fbi check or is going to immediately. my suffer was caused by the timing, while the new procedure was put into practice.

anyway, good luck to all of us! and guess what, everything is for a reason.

hk2001, I have a similar situation here in the newark office. our case is pending 4 months after interview. They told us that our FBI check has not come back yet. However, it is very confusing. I know for those who got approval notice from the vermont center and when they go to the local office for stamp, they just need to wait for 20min before their security check is cleared. How come some of us have to wait endless for this?
