I know that I still have plenty of time before I have to start worrying about that (my checks were cashed only the other day), but I'm really curious about one thing regarding the interview...
I've read many reports from interviews on this forum, but I still have a hard time picturing one thing: how are all those questions actually asked and answered? I mean, when the I.O. asks a question are you and your spouse supposed to answer in unison? Or, does just one of you answer a given question? If so, does it really make sense, if you can't "cross-examine" the applicant and the spouse?
I've noticed that people here talk about those "cross-examination" interviews as second or "stokes" interviews, but when a friend of mine was applying for AOS a few years ago (2002, I believe) he and his wife were separated right away and examined in two different rooms (their first and only interview). I don't know if that was a result of them looking suspicious, or were interviews just different then?
Sorry if that seems like a dumb question, but I would really appreciate your explanation!
