Folks,
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when contacting Senators/Congressmen:
1)It is better to send a letter/fax than an email. Emails can be replied
to automatically, but letters/faxes must be read by some human, then
stored somewhere.
2)Make sure you include your mailing address in your communication. The
reps will take interest/action only if you live in their district, and can
therefore potentially vote for them.
3)You need not make it obvious that you are not a citizen, and are
therefore ineligible to vote.
4)You need not let any of the reps know that you have contacted all the other reps. Let each one think that thet alone need to take action.
5)Once you have sent the initial letter, follow up with a phone call once
each week.
All we need is one rep to take some interest, he/she might be interested
enough, or influential enough to take some action.
