Hi Jim,Jaxen and other guru's out there.....

I have a question regarding the H1 visa revalidation and what happens if it is not revalidated , Please help me.....
My visa has not been revalidated since a year now and also don't hope to go to my home country any soon ,, I have a valid H1 and a valid I-94 underneath for next two years.....which according to people in this discussion forum is legal to stay in this country as far as we have a valid I-94(in the I797 approval notice).
My question is what happens if somebody like INS or Troopers or cops ask for my passport and find out that my visa is expired.....
Do you think they will accept if I show my H1B and the I94.....What could be the worst scenario in this situation....Please gurus tell me about this.

Thanks in advance.....

worst scenario

will be that you will face an uneducated (in INS matters) law enforcement officer and what that person can do is unlimited.

However, you should have your immigration attorney's contact numbers handy , A hard copy of AC21, with relevant sections marked and an emergency contact number for your employer.

Unless you are from a suspect religion/ country, a generic law enforcement officer does not bother to verify your immigration status.
In fact most of them know that I94 determines status and all you need to show is this tiny little white paper and you are safe.

Worst scenario

Thanks Jaxen for your reply.....

Where can I print out the AC21 rules and regulations ?

And also please let me know the sections.........

Thanks for your help.
