A friend of mine is now a tenure-track assistant professor and in I485 stage (way past 180 days).
He received an offer from another school with higher salary in another state with lower living costs.
But in the new offer, because my friend only has a one-year EAD (renewable with I-485 pending), the school offered a one-year fixed term. And the contract will become tenure-track automatically when he receives green card.
The rank is also assistant professor. But the term is one-year fixed term (pending green card) instead of tenure-track. Do you think this will affect the portability of I-485 (AC21)?
