A # on Green card different from I485 receipt notice

Hi guys,

I received my GC a couple of weeks back. Though it was such a big relief, I just realized that the A # on it is different from the one on I485 Receipt notice. Is it something that's possible and nothing to worry about (for one, my wife's GC has the same A# as on her receipt notice)? I am traveling outside the country next week, so want to ensure there wouldnt be any issues with this .

I have had different A # (on F1-EAD, H1-B, I-485) along different immigration stages. I know that's okay. But is it likely that the consolidated all prior A # into one and assigned me a new A # when issuing GC.

LIN # on GC (among the codes at the bottom) though matches that of I485.

It matches the one on I140 approval notice.

Also, I had a separate one for OPT EAD, that matched one for H-1B and then had a new one issued for I485 receipt - even when I had mentioned the OPT EAD A# on I485. I had checked at the time of receiving the I485 receipt notice with my lawyer and he had assured that having a new A# for I485 was okay. But now I am not sure if a yet another one for GC is okay, though it does match the one on I485 Approval notice. I'll check with my lawyer on Tuesday and have taken an Infopass as well. Lets see what they have to say.

Meanwhile, if anyone has seen this kind of mismatch, kindly share your experience.

Long weekend just became exciting ;)
