A lot of FP notices today ... any insights ?

Its looks like VSC is going thru all of October not just till Oct 15th ND cases. If so thats a good sign - they may be having less Oct cases than some of the posts mentioned (18 boxes - but how big are the boxes - if anyone would care to ask the IIO .... )

Isn\'t this cool, we are now down to discussing the size of INS\'s boxes :)
One may wish to calculate the exact dimensions lxhxb and the size of the
I-485 package l2xh2xb2 to determine how many can be held in each box.

The goodie box :)

Great ! Do you know how many officers are processing I485s ?
Then we can find out roughly how long it will take !

The forms tell us how long it takes to fill out - but how long does it take an IIO to process a 485 app ?
(My attorney says 15 minutes if you have all the documents) - but let give them 30.
So they will do 12 485s a day (assume that thye work on the forms 6 hrs, two hours go for lunch/tea/coffee/meetings etc)

So that makes it 20*12 = 240 485s per day
6600/240 = less than 30 days
ASSUMING - 20 IIOs 30 mins per 485 !
So - they should finish (sending out FPs or RFEs) by end of Feb, all Oct 99 cases and start on Nov 99 cases.
(Keep in mind they are constantly processing replies to RFEs etc)

It would be very useful if somebody can tell how many cases there were in Aug\'99, Sept\'99. I remember myladoor said somewhere that it took VSC 6 months to process those cases of Aug. and Sept. of 99.

The number of months needed to process Oct\'99 cases is

6600/ [ ( # of cases of Aug\'99+Sept\'99 ) / 6 months ]

Hi CNEB1VSC, Go towww.immitracker.com/vsc/ and choose No. 3 on the left hand side frame under Graphs, and analyse the % based on the graph you see for Aug and Sep

Thanks

IIO mentioned that taking Aug 99 as bench mark Sep 99 was 80% vol of aug and Oct 99 is 75% vol of Sep 99. This means 11000 cases for Aug 99 and 8800 cases for Sep 99. If it took 6 months for VSC to do Aug and sep, it will take them 2 months to do oct 99. Remember aug and sep is not done yet. As PD\'s become current approvals for aug and sep will keep coming.

Hi Kuljit,

How did you find out how many cases they are processing? I am just curious.

Why there are so many backed up application for October 99? Is there any specific reason for this? What about later days (Sep 99 through Dec 00)?

Thank you very much for your response.

(Long on 485)

I looked at the data at immitracker. Here are what I have. The case numbers for 08/99,09/99,10/99 are: [176 193/k 83/k^2] / (83/k^2)*6600=[10554 13327 6600],
# of months needed for VSC to process 10/99=1.66

This assumes the case number at immitracker increases at a monthly rate of 1/k, where k is given as k=mean([165/193 56/83 19/25 7/8 44/51 30/38 11/18 6/9 5/5 8/10])*33/30 =0.8684 based on data dated on 01/08/01 and 02/11/01.

Here are more for the future approvals:

RDs; # of months to wait; Approval date
06/00; 6.8; 09/01
05/00; 6.5; 09/01
04/00; 6.1; 08/01
03/00; 5.3; 07/01
02/00; 4.0; 06/01
01/00; 2.4; 04/01
12/99; 2.2; 04/01
11/99; 1.6; 04/01

My case has an RD of 06/00. Here is the formula I used to predict the approval date:
# of Months to wait before an IIO touch my case= (83/k^2+25/k^3+8/k^4+51/k^5+38/k^6+18/k^7+9/k^8+5/k^9 + 9/k^10 )/((176+193/k)/6) =6.8 ~ 7.3. k is critical here. It does not seem to work well as I try to predict the registered number of cases as of today from the much old data. However, I thought it is interesting to share.
