A letter from US Citizenship and Immigration Services

Hello guys,

A little of prehistory:
I got a good offer a few months ago. As part of the retention package my employer
(a well known state university) agreed to write a letter to the Associate Director of Opertaions of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services in DC requesting to expedite my case (I filed I-485 two years ago).

A week ago the Chancelloor at my university got the following answer:

"..........This is an administrative office and we do not process applications. Although, as a courtesy the USCIS office having jurisdiction over their cases have been contacted on your behalf. According to the Service Center, "Receipt Numbers WAC-02-******** and WAC 02****"
cases have been pulled for review. As of this date, a final decision has not been rendered and the cases remain actively pending in the workflow process.

.....................................................................................
The Service Center is currently processing cases filed and dated on or during January 2002 (*the letter was dated April 27, 2004*). in fairness to applicants and in accordance with the Operations instructions 103.2(q), it is the USCIS policy to process cases in chronological order based upon the date of receipt............................................."

Any comments?

P.S. Last touched date for the cases is the 2FP date (January 2004).

That would be very fine if that were true. It isn't, though. I see wac03 and wac02-2 approvals.

I think you probably do not understand. The letter is from the Washington office which is not responsible for processing. Whatever bureacratic language they put there I honestly don't care, because I do not expect anything else.

I was more interested in what this forum might think about Cal Service Center response (one paragraph above in my first posting). It indicates that

1) "the cases were pulled for review"
2) "the cases remain actively pending in the workflow process".

At the same time last touched dates for my and my family cases are Janury 2002.

I wouldn't believe anything until I see the approval notice in my hand! Everything else is pure bull. INS lies through their teeth. There are hundreds of Jan applicants waiting and they process 03/04 cases? Come on what Chronological order?

Has anyone seen any random approval lately (excluding conc filer)?

Has anyone seen any random approval lately (excluding conc filer)? I think INS has stopped approving those Aug'02 -Jan'03 cases. I am only seeing approval for the people who filed before Mar'02 or whoever filed conc.

I did not see any random approvals lately especially Aug-02, I do not think INS (USCIS) has stopped approving Aug-02 cases as ther was no start of approvals of Aug-02 cases
