A# Issue - different on passport stamp and plastic card

There was a number (starting with A..) on the alien registration form that consulate gave us which was submitted to INS at time of entry, and there was also another number with IV-XXXXXXXX. The INS person wrote the XXXXXXXX number on the passport along with the stamp and not the AYYYYYYY number, while the plastic card shows the YYYYYYY as A#. Anything needs to be done since both are different ?

A# is your Alien Registration Number

That should be on your Plastic Green Card. If it is not then you should contact TSC to correct it.

What you had on your passport was a Temporary 551 stamp and the IV number (Immigration Visa number).
All seems to be good. Take it easy. Do not stress on small things - Your days of stress are Over..... You have the Hara Patta now!
