A# for DORA Applicants

1)When do they give A# for DORA participants or is it the same as Receipt number on NOAs. If Iam not wrong they give A# during or after the FP/Biometric.
But then there is a code that starts with "A" on NOA for I-485 in the Applicant column right above my name, could that be the A# ??
Correct me if Iam wrong.

2)Also what do ASC Codes mean. I have an ASC code of 3 on my NOA for I-485.

3)On my NOA it says "USCIS will schedule your biometrics appointment". A little below it it says " Please bring this letter and Photo ID to your appointment". Does it mean they dont need the actual letter that has ur appointment date and time (which I understant takes a while to come after NOA) for getting in for FP/Bio. They must be cross referencing your name with that days list. Now the question is: WALK-IN.... Who can or cannot do that. Do I need to wait for my FP/Bio appointment letter to come before I try Walk-in or I can still try it without that letter.

I dont know about DORA, but in general, the A# is what appears on the NOA for the I-485. I dont know what A# you are referring to during the FP/Bio

ASC code 1 is for your 10 finger fingerprints. This is typically for your I-485
ASC code 2 is Biometrics. Thats your thumbprint, index fingerprint, picture and signature. Typically for your I-765
ASC code 3 is for both of the above (Code 1 and 2 consolidated into one)

3)On my NOA it says "USCIS will schedule your biometrics appointment". A little below it it says " Please bring this letter and Photo ID to your appointment". You could walk-in if you know your ASC code. The rules and security level varies across different ASC. Some only need the NOA, some ask for the appt letter and some even cross check your name with their list.
