Good afternoon, folks,

If somebody knows about the following, please let me know:

1) when RFE asks for W-2, paystabs does it requests originals or photocopies are fine,

2) if I-485 is approved 2-3 days prior to summer travel (so there is no time left to receive the approval notice/ get stamped) can one go on with the summer plans and leave the US for a couple of months on AP ?

Thanks to everybody for responses and good luck!

1) Photocopies are fine.

2) In my opinion, as long as you haven't received the approval notice, you can always claim you didn't know GC was approved when you come back with AP.

2. Once 485 is approved you cannot travel without a stamp/GC.

But on the other hand, if you leave soon after the approval you can certainly claim the you did not receive approval letter before you left.

What I understand is that getting/not getting stamped is not a big deal. When your I485 is approved, you got approval for permanent residence. You need to get stamped because that stamping works as a temporary GC card. Longer you delay to get stamped, longer it will take for you to get plastic GC card.

BTW, the count for your permanent residence starts from your I485 approval date. Your GC card is going to expire on the same day (after 10 years), neither on the date you get passport stamped nor on the date your plastic got issued.
