A Case from Aug 2002 Approved

A Friend of mine had I-485 filed in Aug 2002 (EB2, NJ)
with 1 + 3 dependents. His Case + 2 dependents cases were approved last week.

Please note the RD is Aug 2002, not 2001.
I was shocked myself, I am not sure if INS has some lottery system

BTW, my RD is Jan 28th, 2002

is real lucky! Maybe it was an age-out case? Or maybe a transfer or something?

Something has to be different!

there is anything "Totally Different" with this case !

Also can you post the partial EAC Number !

Was it a concurrent filing case?

I heard that there are chances they might pick up concurrent filers earlier. Dont believe it though.:confused:
 
Luck of draw

I had sometime back responded to another approval that was so "insane" to quote eternity.

This sometimes happens when an officer pulls out a file at random to demonstrate to a new joinee on how to process 485 case. Maybe this person was so lucky that his file was picked up at random.

Atleast I am considering the above explanation to bring down my blood pressure :)
 
Is that thru marriage? That's the quickest!

Does he/she get the GC via marriage to a US citizen? It only took about 3 months for my friend's case to be approved after her marriage registration.

There MUST be something different, hope the person is willing to share the differences!
