A# and SSN question

I have a very simple question:
I have my EAD and with it my A#.
I am currently looking for work and every application form asks for my SSN. Can I use the A# there, it has the same amount of digits, but they are divided up differently.
Can I use it?

I don't see the point of your question ...

give your SSN when asked for it
give your A# when asked for it.

Don't mix 'em - simple ?
 
oh .. I knew the question was stupid.
How can I use my Employment Authorization Card then? They all ask for a SSN and the only thing I have is my A# on the card.

I think the problem is that StellaMaris doesn't have her SSN yet.

StellaMaris - your question wasn't stupid. Follow ginnu's advice and apply for your SSN.
 
You need to go to the Social Security office and apply for a SSN.
You have to show your EAD when applying for SSN.
You will get your ssn in about 6-8 weeks.

when go to SSA office take your EAD, driving licence/ID and passport, fill up the form.
