Is A#(Alien Number) going to live like SSN for Alien????.

I need to refile I 485...but question on my A#?

Any one have idea on this please let me know.

Yes,

Once you have been assigned an A# you are supposed to stick to it, like SSN is assigned to you for life.

Disclaimer: This is no legal advice. I am just expressing my opinion on this based on what I remember having read before.

Good luck.

As far as I know the A# remains the same. In my case when I reapplied for my 485 even if I said that I don't have an A# they pulled the info out somehow and sent my receipt back with the same A# as before.

sfbay_area_guy,

my concurrent file got denied and I'm applying my 140+485 again with same employer. that'Y i have doubt to use old one. if i use old A#. then again there may be issue on approval. so how to over come this. please let me know more on your filing details.

thanks,

Obviously no two cases are alike, mine was a case where i had a greencard for which I had no reentry permit and so had to give that one up and apply for a new one.

In fact my new application was denied - for that oen I did not apply again - I just applied for a Motion to Reopen the case.

continue with existing denied 485

My corporate proposed to substitue a labor to file my 140 to link with denied 140. Representative told me that there may not be a need to file 1485 again.

Could i continue with existing 1485? Any ideas.... please let me know.
