A#(Alien Number) for Refile

Is A#(Alien Number) going to live like SSN for Alien????.

I need to refile I 485...but question on my A#?

Any one have idea on this please let me know.

A# is usually issued by INS if you ever had an EAD approved before (includes OPT after F1). This is per my lawyer
 
A# is also on I-485 filing reciept on EADand AP ( EAD has extra 0 for employement based EAD)
If I-140 is filed for CP and is approved it also has A# many reported the I-140 filed for AOS also had the A# on I-140 reciept from some srvice center
