hi all,
i had my citizenship interview in september 2008...i had one trip outside of US for more than 6 months and less than a year...i presented the officer with all the docuemnts to prove i never intended to abondon my residence here...after the interview, she gave me a letter saying "you have passed your naturalziation interview but a decision could not be made yet. a decision would be mailed within 60 to 90 days"...further down it said that i had the right to appeal it in district court if i havent heard from USCIS in 120 days.
1) it has been over 90 days and i havent recived any decision yet. shud i call to follow up? i hear often when people call to follow up they respond saying "wait for another 60 to 90 days". m i better off not calling to follow up and just request a hearing in district court after 120 days? (tht will be begining jan)
2) can anyone let me know if going the district court route a smart idea? is it easy? will it speed up my process?
3) when i try to put my reciept number online on USCIS website, it cannot pull any information of my case...neither can it on phone...it asks me to contact my local USCIS office for details...what shud i do?
thanks everyone!
