I am already on my 7th-year extension, which will expire in Oct. 2004. I have been with employer A and the 7th-year extension is based on my LC> 365 days (sponsored by A). Now there is a possibility of our division being sold and then closed. So I am looking for a new employer.

Will the new employer be able to file my 8th-year extension based on my old LC with employer A? Thanks.

great guru

you can extend your H1 8th year with your new employer based on old employer pending LC/I 140.

I'm on eigth year H1. So I'm happy to see another 8th year H1 applicant.

Yes, You can get 8th year H1B for new company using the pending GC application which was filed for some other company.

Thanks very much. Urgent questions...

Thanks, Great Guru and Edison:

Now I know two things for sure, first, my LC is in the federal centralized process center in Maryland and secondly, our division is sold and will be closed soon although the corporate will be still alive.

So can I still get the extension if my old LC gets approved? What can I ask my soon-to-be former employer to do so the approved LC will not interfere with my future extension? Thanks again. Any suggestions will be very much welcome.
