8 different employers in last 5 years. Does it matter?

Hi,

I would be eligible to apply for N-400 in Jan 2008 based on 5 years - 90 days rule.

I have had 8 different employers in last 5 years, due to either completion of contract project or company lay-off.

I did work for my GC sponsoring employer for 4 months after getting GC.
I have also been with my current company for over 2 years.

The 2 years after getting GC were turbulent with periods of no work, welfare and employment changes.

Does anyone know if this could be a cause of worry due interview.

Who cares

You can change as many jobs as you like or you could be like me, not being on a project lately and be waiting for your interview letter. Who cares. In short, nobody cares as long as you paid your taxes on time and kept your residency.

I agree with the rest of the posts here....changing employment, collecting unemployment compensation or being in-between jobs during the N-400 process would not be a reason for denial of the application though there have been some posts on this board where changing employers soon(??) after getting the green card invited more questioning from the interviewing officer.
