7th yr extension, H1B Transfer. Please advise!

hello experts out there .. pls advise..

I am currently with company A and have my labor filed with Company B during Nov'2003.

My H1B is expiring this Oct'2005 (including 6 years). I want to apply for H1B Transfer with Company B. Can I file the 7th yr extension alongwith the transfer. I want to avoid getting H1B with Company B valid until Oct'2005 and again filing 7th Year extension.

Is it possible to get the H1B with Company B valid until Oct'2006?

I wanted to try the same thing "to get 7th year with transfer", but my new company's lawyer did not agree. He said you cannot apply for 7th year untill you only have few (2 - 3) month remaining to complete 6th year. He further said said that if we do so, it might complicate the case and we may get a RFE.
I have also read about some people, who requested 7th year with transfer, even before 6 month remaining for 6th year and got 7th year approved. So it is worth a try, if your lawyer agrees.
 
Thanks for your advice Eric.. I am planning to get H1B transfer almost when it is 6 months away from the expiration ..
