7th Year Extension or regular H1 extension??

Here is my scenario:
I had applied for 140/485 in April' 03. I got my EAD and Advance Parole. I believe I dont need a H1 now and can start working on EAD. But, just to be extra-safe, I am thinking of having my H1 extended.
I came into this country in Oct' 98. So, my six years period ends Oct'2004. But, my current H1 expires first week of june 2004.
Q1. When I extend my H1, would that include 7th year extension?
Q2. Is applying for seventh year extension any different from the regular H1 extension?
Q3. What is the procedure for extending (Regular or Sevent-year) my H1 Visa myself - Forms to be filled, documents etc.? Can someone please point me to some link that gets me this info.

------ Better wait for your I-140 to be approved and better maintain H1 status and don’t use EAD

----- Let the lawyer handle it you need new LCA from DOL that employer has to get, fill up the form I-129, cover letter requesting for 7th year eligibility

I am not planning on using EAD unless I have to. I have my current H1 until Jun' 04. So, I can continue on H1 until then.

God-willing (or USCIS-working), if I my 140 is approved before (say) May'04, can I then safely work on EAD. Or, is it better to get my H1 extended even after 140 approval?

------ If I am in your situation I will file H1 extension it is safe to be on H1. you can also extend H1 after I-140 approved. file your H1 extension before H1 or I-94 expires
