Hi,
My 6 years of H1-B visa is expiring on 19th January 2005.
My Green card Application started on 16th Jaunuray 2004 3 days before I complete my 5th year.
I got my Labour certification approved on 21st May 2004.
My I-140 is not filed yet since my employer doesnt want to file my I-140 till next year.
I want to change my employer based on my Labour certification is cleared in May 2004.
Is it possible I change my employer and the new employer files my 7th year extension based on my Labour cleared?

LC is not portable.
Beg your employer to file for I-140. If it is the cost then say that you will foot the bill. If you change your employer its all over. You have to start with a new LC petition.

You can chage your employer

Yes ,you can change your employer (through H1, 7th year) based on your previous employer approved Labor certification. as the 7th year extn. But you can not use old labor certification from previous employer for green card. However, if your new employer has the similar situation and some one left the company after labor cert approved, you can make use of the labor certification, with out starting from the scratch
