7 months out of USA after activation

Hi guys,

I'm planing my activation trip, and the best for me would be on January. After that I'm suposed to come back within the next 6 month, but my classes finish on July. That means, after my activation trip, I would have been, more or less, 6 months and a couple of weeks (maybe 7 months).

My question is, do I have to ask for the re-entry permit? I have seen that if I can't show you have things in the States you would better have the Reintrance Permission. But I'm going to do a Master there, then I will have my university documentation to show that I'm going there to take classes.

What would you do? How can I ask for the re-entry permit? How long does it take (my activation trip is gonna last just 6 or 7 days)

You can leave teh U.S. 364 days. However, it is not recommend to leave longer than 6 month to avoid questions at the POE, but finishing you degree is a good reason to stay 7 month outside.

Re-entry is a problem since this year, because you need biometrics at USCIS office and you don' know when they schedule it (can take weeks).

I hope I won't be be a problem. But I will be nervous in my exam time as my entrance will be after 6 months :S

Does anyone have any entrance expereince at POE 6 months of the departure? (and less than 1 yr)
 
Even if you only leave for a few days if you don't have a permanent residence in the US, they can revoke your GC. They don't seem to take a good look as long you stay abroad for less than 6 month, but they can if they chose to.
 
Yep, I know even if you are in the USA your GC could be revoked. But we are talking about if anyone has experienced the 6 months rule out of the country.
