6th Year & new H1 application

Hello,

My h1-b will be expiring on 21st Aug'05 as I am completing 6 years of my stay. I will be leaving to India on 18th Aug'05.

Am I eligible to apply for a new h1-b in the October quota and use that new h1 to come back to US in next year August?

Better apply yr 2007 quota and start from Oct 2006.

If you apply OCt 2005 and you come OCt 2006, port of entry may suspect and they will verify with your wmployer, if anything goes wrong you will be denied entry.
