Guys,
If INS does not process our cases even after 60 days from FP, at least will they abide by the rule (485 processing period) they broadcast to the world over AVM. It has been more than 60 days from the date I did my FP(march 28), and even this meaningless and arbitrary processing time they set also will be over by june 18, 01. If we call them stating that our cases were left behind and they are indicating to the world that they are processing June cases, they give very intimidating answers such as "we are holding on to these cases without trasferring to the local INS offices", they are pretending as if they are unable to handle these cases, if they process the cases in the order they are received nobody would ever call the INS, may be they do not know this.

I just like to know if anybody out there waiting for more than 540 days.

Please post.

ITS INS
What can one say. I was a frequent caller until last month when I realized that each IIO I spoke to has different answeres which lead me to believe IIO\'s have no clue about the processing. Our applications will be processed when they know what they r doing, which seems like it will take forever.

Good luck.

I have been waiting almost 600 days and the ends still seem no where near insight. I called IIO in April about this and pointed out I had been waiting for more than 540 days that was the message on AVM. The IIO said it was the message before backlog. She continued that now they were having a backlog so that it was normal for a process longer than 540 days.

You are right, IIO\'s have different opinion.

My 485 RD 9/00; ND 10/00 and got FP appointment in 12/00 and was received by INS VSC in 01/01!!! Go figure..

One of my friends who applied a couple of weeks earlier has NOT yet gotten his FP notice.

Last week an IIO told me that the FP expiry date is 18 months, in other words, the FP is valid until 06/02 and that my medical records are considered valid as long as they were done 6 months prior to the RD. If VSC does take a long time to process the application, it is VSC\'s problem and the time line above holds good.

VSC processing order does not make any sense. My details:

PD 5/8/98 EB2 India, ND 10/5/99, FP 3/2/01. I waited for more than 540 days and still waiting. By the way my receipt shows processing time of 180-360 days and the AVM says 365-540 days.

Tired of calling iio as they do not have any clue. Wrote a letter to congressman detailing all the abuses we went thorugh. Congressman\'s office sent a letter last week to VSC. Waiting to hear from those f$#%*&^ guys.

570 days from ND and 70 days after FP... the wait goes on.
It\'s very frustrating esp when you see other Service Centers..

BTW, the AVM is not reliable. On the day one of my friends got
the approval, it was still saying "still processing" or whatever.

I am in the same boat. ND 10/28/99. FP: 4/19/01. No RFE yet. Called IIO multiple times and everytime a different answer. Last time, I really shouted at the lady on the phone because she was talking so bull-shit that I wanted to slap her. I asked her to transfer me to her superviosr or somebody else? SHe put me on hold. I hung up after a while. These bastards have no clue about the pain we all go through. I really wish INS could hire some immigrants. That would probably increase the efficiency by more thatn 100%.

I have written to my Senator multiple times. They just made inquiries on my behalf with the same answer.

Sad.......
