485 Transferred to Local INS

My online status check gave me the following new message
"On November 04, 2002, we transferred your I485 APPLICATION TO ADJUST TO PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS to another INS office for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. That office will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case."

RD 10/25/01 EAD # 02-053-5****

I was hoping that it would be approved sometime this month. But this was a setback. Please suggest ... How long will the approval process be delayed. How do I find out what is the current waiting time at the local INS office.

My case has been transferred to Charlotte Office. Does anyone know about the waiting times at Charlotte. How do I find out the waiting times? Please advise.

Was yours an NIW (national intrerest waiver) case? If so, did your employment letter also described your job-duties?

If the above is not applicable and if your case was EB-2 or EB-3, did you change employers?

Just trying to figure out probable cause for transfer.

my case

Mine is EB2 not employer change or change of location ..etc. From day one of the process nothing changed on my case. Not even my apartment adddress.

Please share your experience at the local INS office. All the more if it is Charlotte ....

Unfortunately I donot fall under any of these categories. Mine is a straight and simple case. EB2 same employer till date. No address change ..etc.
 
What about medical result , tested +ve for TB ?
my friends case got transferred to local office since he tested +ve for TB ..

Mine is also same as yours. On sept 23 transferred to Charlotte ins office for interview. I will post once i get interview letter. Also let me know(if any one knows) how much time it takes for charlotte to schedule an interview.

His interview is not yet scheduled it is almost 4 months since his case got transferred for Interview , Was given medication for 6 months , have not done any further test for TB ,will keep posted if some thing new comes up

dengdeng, why do you say using AP during 485 waiting period may cause a RFE? any examples or reasons?

Glad to know that I am not alone. I will keep you posted as soon I hear something.
I have heard that the local INS office goes through a cycle where in each month they work on one type of cases for ex .. Nov maybe for 485 and the next month for the refugees..etc. Couldn't get any concrete info. on it.

I heard from friends that if you leave the country during the time of waiting, then they give you an interview to make sure you're the right person. Since someone else has your AP can sneak into the country, right?

A certain (small) percentage of files are picked up at RANDOM and transferred to local office for statistical reasons (to maintain integrity of the whole asinine process).

You just happen to be blessed with Bad Karma.
