485 Stamped - Need travel advice to India

All,

Yesterday got stamped. I am going to India via Paris in Air India from Newark,NJ in december.

I need not to get down in Paris as same flight goes to Chennai.
Do i need transit visa as i am travelling on stamping?
I am sure i may not get palstic card by december.

Your help appreciated.

French Consulate advised people to get a transit visa if you do not hold a valid visa in Passport, GC (Card) or an American Passport. However, there have been cases where people travelled with PP stamps.

My advise would be to check with French consulate near you and if possible, get a transit visa.

No you do not need Transit Visa. I travelled on the same route on AIR INDIA a year ago and since one is not allowed to disembark at Paris you will not require any Transit Visa. You can actually call AIR INDIA if you need further confirmation.
