485 Question

Hi All,

Need some clarifications.
My PD is 2002 - May. (EB3)
Filed 485 on Jul-2005.

My understanding is that, 485 should be current or past my PD, in order to get the visa numbers for the approval. Hence, waiting for the EB3 PD to move forward.

But i heard that the visa numbers will be granted as soon as 485 is filed and i don't really need to wait until the PD becomes current.

Is that true ??

Visa numbers should have been available when i filed last year.
My understanding is, processing is "Current" only when visa numbers are available.

Correct me if i'am wrong.
