I would appreciate if anybody could throw light on the situation described below.
My 485 appl. would become 6 months old on May 6th 03. My 140 is approved and I have an EAD. My project is almost over and my employer is willing to retain me without paying salary till I get another project. If I take up a new job with similar profile after May 6th -
1. do I need to inform INS before any query is made- what is the procedure
2. who would be renewing my EAD when it expires
3. if I travel to India (for 1 month) what precautions should I take
4. if I get laid off from my next job in say 6 months can I again use the portability clause - does it have a negative impact?
5. generally, if you are working on an EAD (H1 expired) and ypu get laid off can you legally stay on and search for another job?
